Self Discovery – Cerebral Palsy is not My DNA

By: Daddy

My son turned 9 months old yesterday.  He has experienced a lot of new things things in his short 9 months in this thing we call Life.  But I think I’ve discovered whole new insights that I never consciously thought of before. But, probably sub-consciously have wondered about.

Some of the facial expressions and hand gestures my son makes are those of my own.  Noticing these things and having my wife point these out; I realize that a lot of what I do physically has nothing to do with my cerebral palsy and everything to do with my DNA make up and me just being me.

As a dad with cerebral palsy, I wondered what traits my son would have of me.  I never imagined I’d learn so about myself and cerebral palsy from him.
