Gift Ideas for the Wheelchair User

By: Daddycomment

Gift-ideas-for-the-wheelchair-user | wheelchair-accessoriesWOW 2017 has flown by!  We are entering the holiday season which means lots of food and naturally the season of gift giving.  In the spirit of the season of gift giving here are my favorite gift ideas for the wheelchair user that I actually use.

GIFT IDEAS FOR THE WHEELCHAIR USER

ABL Denim is my favorite blue jeans and make a perfect gift for the wheelchair user!  I wrote about them in a previous post.  You can read that post here.

The jeans are real denim; just a lesser weight so they are not as rigged and tight.  They are cut for the seated position.  You might be wondering what it meGift-ideas-for-the-wheelchair-user | wheelchair-accessories-jeansans cut for the seated position; I wondered the same thing when I first heard that.  It’s actually pretty simple yet clever.

The jeans are cut with a higher waist in the back so your shirts don’t come untucked.  They do not have pockets on the backside instead you have a side thigh pocket.

Probably my favorite feature is they are cut snug at the ankle so you don’t have swaying fabric you find in traditional jeans.  ABL Denim has generously given email subscribers to Wheelchair Daddy a special discount code!  Subscribe today to receive the special code on Thanksgiving Day!

Endless Ability, has some great pants for the office environment or night out on the town.  Again, the jeans are cut with a higher waist in the back so your shirts don’t come untucked.  They do not have pockets on the backside.  However, unlike ABL Denim, the pants by Endless Ability has 2 extra deep hip pockets and 2 back pockets just above the ankles in the back.  The pants are also snug around the ankles to avoid the annoying extra fabric often found in mainstream pants when sitting.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSORIES

Apple Watch, although a mainstream product the Apple Watch has features that the wheelchair user can find useful making it an excellent addition to your collection of wheelchair accessories.  Let’s face it, for the average wheelchair user there is not a free hand!  With the Apple Watch you can talk on the phone while pushing, you can check text messages and email at glance all while pushing the wheelchair!

Wheelchair Gear has several wheelchair accessories!  Their line-up includes wheelchair bags designed for wheelchairs, add-on hooks, and cup holders to name a few.Gift-ideas-for-the-wheelchair-user | wheelchair-accessories-bags

My favorite is the Slice Bag!  I’ve been using the Slice wheelchair bag for 6 years.

It has many different pockets for organization.  So much so, a couple of months after my son was born we ditched the traditional diaper bag and the Slice bag our full-time diaper bag!

Like all the bags by Wheelchair Gear the Slice wheelchair bag is compatible with power and manual wheelchairs while maintaining a mainstream look.
